Founder, Lady Liberty Sings | Creative Director & Advocate | Building a 1,000+ Voice National Installation to raise $$ for Immigrant Legal Defense
Together, we can: I believe that in a democracy, the most powerful sound is the collective human voice. I am currently channeling a lifetime of creative strategy into Lady Liberty Sings, a national multi-media installation designed to inspire composers and generate donations to provide legal aid for our immigrant neighbors. We are soliciting 1,000+ musical compositions — a national vigil in song — to fund the front-line legal defense of due process.
The Creative Spirit: An immigrant from England via Bermuda, I compose music inspired by the timeless poetry of mystics across all traditions—Sufi, Christian, Jewish, Hindu, and Buddhist. This work is a reflection of my belief that focusing on our universal essence rather than our differences can bridge divides and protect the democratic values of the country I call home.
The Professional Foundation: Jane’s career is rooted in the high-stakes world of Madison Avenue. A veteran of Ogilvy, Grey, and Y&R, she has co-led national creative campaigns for Fortune 500 giants, including Citibank and P&G, with deep expertise spanning healthcare, consumer goods, fashion, financial, and luxury products. Her entrepreneurial drive later saw her scale a boutique textile brand from boutiques to the counters of Saks Fifth Avenue.

Using my powers for good: In nearly 30 years in advertising — managing accounts from Verizon Wireless (Can you hear me now?) to Oreo to Mount Sinai — I only ever joked once that we were "using our powers for good:" producing a campaign for peace for the U.N. in Côte d'Ivoire in 2006. After leaving the ad business, I got sober, got trained, and began using my powers for good full-time as an addiction recovery coach.
Walking the walk: A keyboard warrior since 2015, the dismantling of USAID in Feb. '25 was finally too much. Told my whole life I was too damned loud, I started leading chants at protests. That evolved into participating in ICE Watch. I was raised to believe that when you have power, you use it to help those who don't. Now, I lead my local team. In October '25, I spent my first night in jail for it. All charges have since been dismissed. I'm now suing the federal government and my county, as ICE had me wrongfully arrested by local cops.
A second life: Recovery's given me a second life as a helping person. While my ad career was rewarding, nothing came close to the reward of contributing to someone else's recovery, and I feel the same about the time I spend with our local immigrant community. In a strange, unrelated parallel to my activism, in 2024, I was given the opportunity to raise funds for Nuremberg (Russell Crowe, Rami Malek, '25), which led to an executive producer credit. I see very disturbing parallels between the film and what's happening right here in the U.S. today.
